IRS Scammers

Scammers often use scare tactics, caller ID spoofing, and phishing email and regular mail to make the scam look official. The real IRS will never demand immediate payment over the phone, demand that you pay taxes without allowing you to question or appeal
the amount, or ask for payment information over the phone.
